Astan Quds Razavi, with the blessings of the illustrious shrine of the 7th Imam, Imam Reza (peace be upon him), and the sacred system of the Islamic Republic, under the successful Islamic management of its late guardianship, has witnessed great and remarkable developments in various fields in the years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution. In March 2015, following the death of Ayatollah Vaez Tabasi, Hojjatoleslam Wal-Muslimeen Raisi, and after 3 years of his guardianship, Hojjatoleslam Wal-Muslimeen Ahmad Marvi was appointed as the guardian of this holy shrine by the decree of the Supreme Leader. His presence will undoubtedly be the source of positive and forward-looking developments in this holy shrine. In any case, Astan Quds Razavi has played an important role in various fields, and its activities have developed in a way that, in terms of quantity and quality, cannot be compared even with the total achievements of the past few centuries in this luminous shrine.
The establishment of the Razavi Superspecialty Hospital was carried out in line with the noble goals and the continuation of the development of cultural and social services of the Astan Quds Razavi, with the blessings of the Seventh Imam (AS) and the support of the late custodian of the Astan. This complex was founded with great effort and in line with the improvement of the level of health services in the country and in order to provide appropriate medical facilities for pilgrims, neighbors and devotees, to serve Muslims inside and outside the country as a unique medical center at the regional level.
- Commencement of Operations
The first phase of Razavi Hospital’s operation began in 2005 (1384 Solar Hijri) with the inauguration of Phase One on a site covering an area of 40 hectares. This complex was constructed with an approximate built‑up area of 56,000 square meters across five floors. A significant portion of the site, equivalent to 36 hectares, has been dedicated to green spaces. In addition to creating unique and visually appealing landscapes, this allocation has been given special attention in order to provide a calm and soothing environment that effectively supports patients’ recovery and ensures the comfort of their companions.
Year 1384 - Development and Phase Two
The necessity for quantitative and qualitative development of healthcare services—stemming from the continuous advancement of medical knowledge and the growing utilization of health tourism capacities at national and international levels—led to the planning of the Phase II project. This stage of development was completed and became operational in a short period in September 2013 through the dedicated efforts of specialized teams. The new building, with an area of 37,500 square meters, was constructed with the collaboration of Iranian and German specialists in accordance with the latest building engineering methods, including resistance to disasters and earthquakes, and features a modern lobby with a glass dome inspired by Islamic architecture.
Year 1392 - Opening of the Multi‑Storey Parking Facility
The construction of the multi‑storey parking facility of Razavi Hospital is one of the hospital’s major and significant projects aimed at addressing the problems faced by patients and visitors and enhancing their comfort and convenience. This project was inaugurated in August 2023, with a total built‑up area of 48,000 square meters and a capacity of 1,120 vehicles across four floors.
1402 - Opening of Bashari Infertility Center
Preserving a young population is considered one of the most important strategic and fundamental issues in maintaining and advancing the country. Promoting informed, safe, and health‑oriented childbearing is a strategic necessity not only from social and cultural perspectives, but also from the standpoint of national health. In line with this approach, Razavi Hospital, utilizing its specialized capacities, inaugurated the largest specialized infertility treatment center in eastern Iran in May 2024, with an infrastructure area of 7,843 square meters across two and a half floors.
1403 - Honors and Standards
Razavi Tertiary Super‑Specialty Hospital, with a focus on organizational excellence, continuous quality improvement, and strict adherence to national and international healthcare standards, has succeeded in achieving the highest levels of domestic accreditation (Excellent Grade One) in the health sector. In 2013 and 2015, by obtaining Platinum and Diamond certificates from the prestigious Accreditation Canada International (ACI), this center became the first general hospital in the country to receive these global standards at the initial evaluation. This achievement reflects the hospital’s strong commitment to providing diagnostic and therapeutic services at the highest level of quality.
