Introduction to the Infection Control Unit

Razavi Hospital Infection Control Unit

The Infection Control Unit at Razavi Hospital operates with the mission to prevent and control healthcare-associated infections, aiming to enhance the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. By collaborating continuously with various hospital departments, this unit implements prevention, monitoring, and control programs and oversees adherence to health standards.

Key responsibilities of this unit include: monitoring healthcare-associated infections, ensuring hand hygiene compliance, promoting the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), educating staff, patients, and families, managing exposure to infectious agents, and supervising disinfection and sterilization processes. Through timely identification of infections and risk factors, continuous data analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures, the unit strives to provide a safer environment for healthcare delivery.

It is worth noting that the Infection Control Unit achieved a First Place ranking for creating the Best Educational/Motivational Hand Hygiene Video at the International Conference on Prevention & Infection Control (ICPIC) 2025 in Switzerland. The cooperation of patients, families, and staff in observing infection control principles plays a vital role in maintaining health and reducing the risk of infection transmission.

Our Motto: “Preventing infection is an effective step toward patient safety and health.”
